Current research examines the physical processes (hydrodynamics) that control the formation and change of coastal landforms and nearshore environments, including hydrodynamic modelling. This theme also examines the dynamics of coastal systems at event to centennial timescales and identifies the primary drivers of coastal change.

Specific topic areas include:

  • Hydrodynamic Modelling
  • Wave Processes and Nearshore Currents
  • Nearshore Sediment Transport
  • Sedimentation Processes
  • Coastal Morphodynamics
  • Sea Level Rise
  • Evolution of Coastal Landforms
  • Coastal Hazards
